Water features are a welcome addition to any garden. To name some water features: ponds, mini-lakes, jacuzzis, fountains etc. Water attractions break the monotony of the landscape. Here are some recommendations for you if you want to add a water feature in your lawn…
Wall Water Fountain
Water fountains are the best for gardens of all sizes. A wall water fountain in particular can lend elegance to an ordinary wall. You can install a water fountain through several means. You can either DIY or ask a professional to do it. If you’re strapped for cash, the frugal way is to install it yourself.
Most water fountain kits come with instructions, and with the right tools, you can easily install your own in a day. The manual usually requires you to have an extra set of hands to lift something while you tinker with something else. You can choose from a wide variety of designs, from stand-alone fountains to hanging fountains you can mount on your backyard wall.
Choose a good position for your fountain, preferably at the center of your garden where everyone can see it. You can place decorative rocks around the fountain, and even lights.. Lights are not the only accessories for fountains. You can add sculptures.
Your choice of fountain design should depend on the size of your garden. Space saving wall fountains work well if your garden is small. Always consider your pets and their habits before you buy a fountain. Wall garden fountains are better than stand alone ones if you have pets, for obvious reasons.
Interested in waterfalls?
It’s more difficult for some people to install a waterfall than a water fountain. First of all, if the set up does not include a way to recycle the flowing water, the water bill could make you give up on your project. A pump is handy for recycling the water but you have to change the water regularly to prevent it from getting murky. Second, the backdrop for your falls must be pretty; unless you want to simply see water flowing down your walls. The water from the falls can go into your pond first.
If you’re competent and handy with tools, you can install and maintain a pond yourself. Ponds are great but it may be tiring to clean out the dirt that accumulated in it after a week. You can choose to have a raised pond, or an in-ground pond; which are different entities when it comes to maintenance factors.
